What types of industrial endoscopes are classified?

As the industry gradually realizes integration and automation, industrial endoscopes are an important tool for visual inspection, which can perform inspection tasks independently or be used in conjunction with other non-destructive inspection methods.

It is a non-destructive testing technology that uses industrial endoscopes to observe and inspect the interior of pipes, containers, non-removable equipment that cannot be observed by human eyesight, the inner surface of narrow gaps, water and oil and other areas below the liquid level. It is the most important product quality control technology. One of the effective methods is especially important for the detection of deep-hole parts or tubular parts. In fact, observing the surface condition of the inspected product without disassembling, discovering assembly defects and superfluous objects in the assembly, these are just the basic functions of the industrial endoscope. In recent years, with the development of endoscope technology, industrial endoscopes also have some advanced or additional functions. For example, some industrial endoscopes also have advanced functions for quantitative measurement of defect length and depth. Help inspectors make decisions more objectively.

Industrial endoscopes are professionally designed and produced to meet the requirements of the complex use environment of the industry. Due to the huge differences in use environments, there are many types of industrial endoscopes. According to the characteristics of the manufacturing process, the general industrial endoscope product classification includes three types: straight rod mirror, fiber optic mirror, and video mirror. Among them, straight rod mirrors are mostly used in inspection places that do not need to be bent, such as straight holes; fiber mirrors are mostly used in inspection places with small apertures and curved; video mirrors have many functions, wide practicability, and quantitative measurement, and are currently widely used.

Industrial endoscopes also include borescopes and pipe crawlers (crawling robots). Borescopes can be assembled by multiple rods to increase the length, up to 10m or longer, and the head can also be equipped with a camera device, which is mostly used for long and large-diameter straight pipes, deep holes such as gun barrels and other products. It can be regarded as a special form of straight rod mirror. Pipe crawler is another type of special industrial endoscope detection technology. It installs an endoscope lens on a professional crawler, and the operator remotely directs the crawler to move inside the pipeline, and transmits the detection status inside the pipeline to the host , The pipe crawler is mostly used in the endoscope inspection of large-caliber and long pipes.
